The development at 170-174 Te Atatu Road consists of one 2-storey and ten 3-storey residential buildings on one compact site. This project is one of the most common types of fire engineering projects we have been constantly working on related to new building work.
The architectural design called for a number of innovative fire engineering solutions including a smoke control system with opening louvres at the top of the shared escape routes (compliance demonstrated with computer modelling), and Alternative Solutions for the single means of escape and a fire rated 'picture frame' to prevent vertical fire spread while maintaining the desired external appearance.
