Administrator House, 44 Anzac Avenue
What started as a relatively simple 'change of use' fire report quickly turned into a complex problem to solve the multiple historic issues with the building, including remediation of the extensive passive fire shortcomings. This project was our most complex and difficult computer modelling exercise to date, including sensitivity studies for the effects of wind and simulating the inclusion of a new stairwell pressurisation fan. However this effort ensured that our client received his Consent and the building is now considerably safer for all its occupants.

Franklin Hospital
In a partnership with CoveKinloch, Nelligan Consulting Engineers was engaged as the Construction Monitoring Fire Engineer for this project. We conducted a large number of site inspections, advised on passive fire compliance issues and supervised the final testing of the multiple safety systems to ensure the fire safety features performed as designed.

Sir Howard Morrison Centre
This is one example of the new build construction projects we have worked on in a Fire Engineering Capacity.
Originally engaged to assist with the fire and evacuation modelling to demonstrate compliance of the new design for the building, we were later engaged to complete the Construction Monitoring for the project and watch the transformation of this building take shape.
Taking the opportunity to economise on site visits, we also assisted with the design and inspection of the height safety systems for the building!

Nelligan Consulting Engineers was the engaged as the independent third-party passive fire inspector. This is a typical type of Passive Fire Project we get involved in for new buildings where we add value to the project through our review and assurance of installing compliant and tested systems and full support on all matters related to Passive Fire Protection.
As part of our services, we provided:
- Review of Passive Fire Schedule at the beginning of the project
- Propose additional Passive Fire Systems when they are missing from the original proposed schedule, or the proposed solutions are not suitable for the application.
- Proposal of Alternative Solutions when there are no tested systems available in the market or where the development of the project occurred in a manner where the initially approved solution could not be applied, and an alternative solution should be adopted.
- Routine Inspections (Construction Monitoring) to ensure the installation is constantly performed as expected
- PS4 (Producer Statement) at the conclusion of the project
