Scott is a Chartered Professional Mechanical Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Auckland.
His first area of work was in the facilities management department of the Auckland District Health Board where he undertook project work related to engineering and building services.
Following this Scott joined Nelligan Consulting Engineers as a design engineer and has been with the company since.
His role is currently Principal Mechanical Engineer, where he leads the firm in mechanical-related projects and investigations. He is a Certified Machinery Safety Expert ® and a recognised surveyor under Maritime Rule 40G (Novel Craft).
Scott is also the current chair of the Recreational Safety Engineering Group (RSE), an Engineering NZ Technical Interest Group for Engineers who routinely certify what are known as “Amusement Devices”.
